Where Are You Going?
WOW! What an amazing 2009 it has been already! So much going on, so much
hope and so many changes. I hope you took a minute or two to write down some
goals for your personal life and you business. I recently put pen to paper
and mapped out my 2009 and I'm ecstatic with all that is coming up in the
next few weeks and month. And yes, I know.. it IS the end of January. So
What! Write down some goals for the year and you will still be way ahead of
80% of the population.
A couple of suggestions when creating a Goal Map: First, set a
date for each
of your goals.
"A goal without a deadline is just a dream." Second, chunk
your goals into smaller pieces. Set your target for the year and then divide
by 4 for your quarterly and 12 for your monthly targets.
Third, write down
what will need to happen to meet these targets. Will you need to hire some
help? Will you need to trim some excesses? Will you need some partners to
participate? What will need to change? Fourth, share your goals with a
trusted adviser. This is key as an adviser can point out some shortcuts,
some things to be aware of, and some ideas you may not have thought of.
Plus, the accountability is priceless.
By putting this Goal Map down on paper and telling someone, you set in
motion the gears for achieving your desires. You have a map for success and
a direction to focus on.
So get your goals down on paper right now and give them some specific dates.
You will be very glad you did - trust me.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK
Evolution of Dance 2
Mr Video Says: Judson Laipply's Evolution of Dance is the most
watched video of all time. His latest version has over 3 million views
already this month. While the first video made him a celebrity, it brought
in no money. This time around Judson has secured sponsors.

FEATURE ARTICLE
Baja Baby!
By the time you read this, I'll be traveling to Baja with Yanik Silver's
Maverick Business Adventures group to
film all the fun, biz sessions and adventure. I love travel and video
and these trips scratch that itch! One thing I enjoy doing is figuring
out the right gear for the job. It's a pain to over pack and also a pain
if you leave something behind! This trip has some specific challenges.
For starters, we will be in extreme conditions, high desert and brutally
punishing roads. There is also a weight limit since we are taking
helicopters from San Diego into Mexico. So here is what gear I'm taking
down to Baja.
Sony FX1 HDV - Rock solid performer. I LOVE the HDV format
Sony HC7 - second camera
V.I.O. POV1 lipstick cam
Focus Enhancements FS-5 - A video disc recorder that I have been
testing.
Tripod - TH-M20 - light and solid
Manfrotto Magic Arm - a very cool cam support system
Sennheiser wireless mic
Sennheiser shootgun mic
Lowell DP Light - with spare bulbs
MacBookPro - with external drives
Pelican Cases x 2
Sounds like a lot but this all fits into 2 Pelican cases - must haves in
the desert sand! I'll also have my trusty Flip Mino HD. Follow along as
I post in the AMV forum an also on
Twitter. If you have any specific
questions about the gear or the situations I'll be shooting in, post
those to the forum too.
Stay Tuned...
