"It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something." Franklin D. Roosevelt

I like the above quote. Try something and see if it works. If not, move on and try something different. I'm trying a number of things. Some are working great. Some not so much. But, I am excited that I have some "trials" going on.

We are covering some amazing methods in the VIP - Video Into Profits course. And in this week's Feature Article I cover another profit method. And frankly, I hear a lot of my internet friends say "There are SO many ways to make money online."

I have to agree with them. However, it takes more than just trying, it takes doing and tweaking it. And THAT is where all the fun is! Friends and students of mine like Lou Bortone, Kristen Arnold, Carrie Wilkerson and a ton of others are taking simple video concepts, tweaking them to be their own, and making a mark for themselves online. People like Lucas in the video of the week are taking an idea, taking action, and talking profits. Give some of these video ideas a try, tweak them as you own, and send me a note on your success!

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

Mr Video Says: My good friend Lucas is 12 years old. He is an action taker! Lucas found a program that would allow him to animate still images. A month later he had a full-blown online business.

FEATURE ARTICLE

Residual, Continuity, Membership, Subscription...

If you've done any kind of marketing on line you know that everyone is talking about residual income, continuity plans, and subscription models lately. What are these? How can you use these? And how can they apply to video? Here's some of my membership site insight.

I first learned about membership models through a website that sold templates for Joomla, a great open source CMS (Content Management System). By joining the site you got access to a new design template each month as well as all the past templates. It was a great site for me to join because I was creating a number of websites for clients every month and needed the best quality designs available. So, it was a no-brainer to join a site like this.

Around that same year (about three years ago now) I went to a membership site seminar lead by Bill Myers and Tim Kerber of Membergate. They spelled out the membership formula in simple terms:

500 members paying $20/month = $10,000 monthly.

Well, I got so excited that I went home and started researching membership sites, the software available and what was needed to set one of these up. I got excited enough to write a book called Membership Site Bible which Tim Kerber was kind enough to write the foreword.

I recently took Membership Site Bible off the market. Why? Well, the industry has changed so fast and grown so much that it's very outdated. Three years ago there were only a hand full (5 to be exact) of membership platforms. Today, there are close to two dozen. Plus, the way people buy on line is completely different than it was three years ago. (Three years in Internet Time is like 30 in real life!)

To take advantage of all the innovations of the last three years, I'm rewriting the book and calling it Membership Site Bible - The New Testament.

(catchy right?)

Two of the most exciting innovations that apply to video are FTM (Fixed Term Membership) model and PLR (Private Label Rights) videos. My friend Jimmy D. Brown INVENTED both these terms which are now industry standards!

An FTM is simply a limited time membership delivering a fixed amount of information. A PLR video is a video that you can rebrand as your own (you purchase the rights to do so). Let your imagination run wild for a minute and think of the possibilities of THAT marriage...

  • Weekly PLR video for fitness trainers

  • Monthly PLR Video Commercial for the hottest Click Bank product

  • Daily PLR Video for Stock or ForEx traders

  • Weekly PLR video for Health sites

I loved this idea so much that Jimmy D. Brown and I are hosting a videocast that teaches exactly how he creates his membership sites and he's gonna show you how to have your own original membership site up and running within 48 hours! (Remember, Jimmy's the guy that invented BOTH the PLR and FTM concepts.)

Block off some time for *Thursday* night (March 26th @ 7PM CST), to join me and Jimmy D. Brown for an "exclusive" presentation.

No one else is allowed in except for MY subscribers and customers ... it's our night to get special treatment! :-)
