Hi all,
I am amazed at how much is going on in the social media scene. Everyone and
their red-headed-step-uncle is touting the powers of Social Media. I love
it. What I especially love is seeing my friends and members having some
amazing successes. People like John who closed a mid 5-figure deal 2 days
after hearing the VIP class given by Dan Buglio. I love members sending me
comments like "Your class with Arnel was worth the cost of admission
alone!" And, I especially love bringing you my friends who are
real-world people who are quietly building their empires by leveraging
YouTube, Facebook and Twitter (the Social Media Trifecta) as a real-world
business tool. People like Carrie Wilkerson, The Barefoot Executive and
Perry Belcher, the Bad A** Marketer. These two could not be any more
different but they both gave out amazing info to all the VIP attendees.
What impressed me most about the people who taught the classes was how what
they did came across so naturally. They are who they are and teach in the
style that suits them the best. That's a HUGE lesson. By trying too hard we
can alienate a lot of folks. People can discern when you are dis-ingenuine.
People can also discern when you have a passion to help others and are not
just trying to make a quick buck.
Video is a leveler I believe. No longer can you hide behind good copy or a
slick graphics package. Don't get me wrong, those help. But video brings you
and your message right up close and personal. Be your genuine authentic self
and you will attract like-minded individuals. Speak in your own voice, and
as my friend Carrie says... "Just be yourself, everyone else is taken."
Stay Tuned...

FEATURE ARTICLE
Sample for Success
This past week I had some of my best friends in the world come to Philly
and shoot some video, develop their brand, and allow me to guide them
and introduce them to other industry professionals. What I love the most
is that I can call these folks friends and not just "clients."
While out to dinner one night we ordered a Wine Flight. Not only was
this a great way to sample some good wine but it was a very good
marketing lesson to boot. A Wine Flight is a sampling of wines in small
glasses - all totaling up to about one full glass. This gives the novice
wine drinker (yes that's me) an opportunity to try three varieties of
wines - geared toward their particular tastes. Now the presentation was
fantastic, 3 glasses in a spiral holder, and the wines good. By making
it all about the presentation, variety, and positioning (Wine Flight is
a cool name), the experience was a great perceived value. I am usually
unsure of what wines to try so this approach was perfect for me.
Sampling is one of the most powerful selling techniques available to you
as a marketer. What can you let folks sample from your product mix? What
can you bundle together to offer a unique experience?
Last week I gave my friends a sampling of services my partners and I
offer. Our "Media Bundle" included Video services, Branding Services,
Web Development, Graphic Design, and Media Coaching (and even a makeup
artist!).
Look at how you can bundle a sampling of your services together to
create a super value and a unique experience.
