About Mr Video

School is in full swing and all the kids are back at it. How about YOU? School is never out for the learner and I really love to learn new things. Just this past week I was in Washington D.C. at Bernadette Doyle's event where I got to hang out with Bernadette, Kevin Nations, and Carrie Wilkerson. Plus I got to pick the brains of a Keywords expert named Pete. I'll be bringing Pete to you so you can continue to learn keyword optimization techniques for your videos for some seriously cool results.

Next stop is NYC filming more shows and getting together with some old friends from Ogilvy & Mather. I love comparing notes, talking shop, and learning - especially with like-minded entrepreneurs who are really exceptional in their areas of expertise.

Then I'm off to London to teach more video in a video intensive workshop!

I'm always learning and I love to pass along what I can manage to soak up on to you. My next class to come out is called Video Blogging Secrets. I'll have a BOATLOAD of information and some amazing video experts showing you the best way to get a video podcast up and running.

Also, I wanted to make you aware of a book I put together - 25 Top Tips for Video Marketing. This is a very handy guide that has tips that have made my clients a huge success in their markets. Plus I include some of the best resources you will find anywhere. Get your copy here!

Never quit learning. Study the models that appeal to you and learn from others. Success Leaves Clues!

Stay Tuned...

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

Mr Video Says: "This is an awesome video and really resonates with me. When I was a kid I asked my mom about a local businessman and what he did specifically. She raised her nose and said 'He's an Entrepreneur'. Being the rebellious kid I was, that set the mold for my adventures! Member Steven Washer dissects this and another video in his thorough article here: http://www.askmrvideo.com/members/535.cfm."

"10 Things I Did To Overcome My Fear Of Video Marketing"

VIDEO MARKETING LESSONS BY EMMA TIEBENS

I started with my Video Marketing "career" 6 months ago which means, that was the very first time I actually sat in front of a camera and filmed myself for 2 minutes straight! While I was completely mortified of having to do it, I could have chosen to one of two things:

1. Be completely paralyzed by the fear of not making sense or looking like an amateur
OR
2. Overcoming the FEAR of the video camera, having realized that video will be a very important component of how I can reach more people.

Needless to say, I chose the latter. Now, 6 months later, not only have I launched my own video business, helping capture the essence of entrepreneurs so they can attract their perfect clients, I have also moved forward in offering music video slideshows and coaching others on how they can incorporate video in their overall online business marketing strategy.

How did I overcome those fears? Here are the "10 Things I Did To Overcome My Fear Of Video Marketing"

1. I attended a seminar called Traffic Geyser LIVE Event and learned as much as I can about video.

2. Used social media and asked around who the key players are in Video Marketing and decided to buy their courses, implement them and truly learn from them. Some people I would really like to thank for this progress are: Perry Lawrence, Carrie Wilkerson, Mike Koenigs, Frank Sousa, Rocket Allstrom, Arnel Ricafranca, John Gregory, Jerry Chen , Javier Rivero Diaz and Dan Buglioto name a few.

3. I made a decision to JUST DO IT no matter how nervous I was! You can still see my very first post on You Tube entitled "You Can Hope Again" dated 01/27/2009.

4. Every time I would think of my video not being "perfect," I would think of what Perry and Carrie from Video Magnetism always say: "the more raw your video is, the more real it is for people, the more they can relate to it."

5. I created an outline which I printed and taped on my camera tri-pod, under the camera to remind me of the sequence of what I wanted to talk about.

6. I started creating Video series with specific topics and started creating testimonial videos that are not scripted.

7. I started speaking in offline LIVE group events about the power of video marketing for your business.

8. I learned to do basic editing from using the basic editing software which came w/ my Flip Mino to using my PCs Windows Movie Maker up to actually hiring a coach to teach me Sony Vegas Platinum Pro Pack.

9. Invested in an iPhone so I can create instant videos that I can post and share on my Facebook or Twitter pages.

10. Came to a realization that even if I don’t know EVERYTHING that there is to know about video and that there will always be someone who will be better at video marketing than me, I will attract and help those people who will related to MY OWN style and that I don’t have to sound like the "gurus": that who I am and what I have to offer is enough…

I hope this helps you get over your fear... the ball starts rolling once you make that decision that you are going for it and the momentum starts building the minute you pick up that camera and start moving towards overcoming that fear! Go ahead, push that red record button, smile, talk and just know that by doing so, you will be helping someone overcome the same fear!

Happy Video Marketing and I look forward to hearing your success story!!!

Help when you need it.

Outsourcing - I'd be lost without my team of amazing VAs (Virtual Assistants - Lisa and Karen {wave} ). I need help on certain tasks like html, creating this newsletter, answering customer support calls and emails and keeping up with my calendar.

Now, I COULD do all of this myself but why? I have limited bandwidth. My memory can only hold so much, I can focus on only so much and my core skills are more idea generating then implementation. They love implementing and they ROCK it. Don't fight against your core competencies. Get some help.

My VAs are specialists and worth their weight in gold. I LOVE them.

You may be needing help but not ready to hire a VA on a retainer basis. I have found an amazing resource that I am also using that you may be interested in.

My Friend Jay runs Web Support Team - a ticket based support system that allows you to request things like setting up your website, installing a blog, installing a theme, set up your email accounts, move a website, set up an autoresponder, etc, etc, etc.

I highly recommend these guys. The responsiveness, the thoroughness and the accuracy are excellent.
