OMG, WTH, W00T!

Yes, we have LEFT the "OHs" (00-09) and are FIRMLY into the 10's and screaming toward the teens. HAPPY 2010!!!!

Depending on your level of business savvy and preparedness, you are either screaming OMG, WTH, or W00T!

2009 was an OMG year for me and AskMrVideo.com! Record year for growth - both in people and in included features to the site - PeopleOnYourPage, Video Optin Machine and Ultimate Media Hosting.

I have had a few WTH moments during the past 12 months but for the most part, 2009 was AWESOME!

Now, 2010??? Well hold on to your boots because you WILL be screaming W00T at all the video freshness that is coming down the Web Three Dot OH evolution. Video Place Shifting will give you video everywhere. I can now watch CNN, ESPN, and just about every major TV Show on my laptop anywhere. Not only that, but you can now watch all those on your Cell Phone. To make it even more interesting, you can broadcast live video right from your cell phone! (see gear review below)

I am loving all the video advancements! Myself and the whole team at AskMrVideo.com (Karen, Lisa, and Daisy) are super excited - FOR YOU! You are a video marketer at THE right place at THE right time. Keep up with all the latest developments and YOU will be richly rewarded. It's like the Gold Rush of 1849. Seriously!

Well that's how I look at it anyway, and that's what's got me yelling W00T!

I hope you are as excited about 2010 and beyond as I am - Buckle on UP, it's gonna be a wild ride!

Stay Tuned...

Creating Maximum Exposure For Your Videos

We all want the maximum exposure for our viral videos but don't want to break the bank. There are ways to maximize the exposure of your videos, keeping the cost down and getting your message across to many.

One of the obvious ways or perhaps a way you may have overlooked is placing the video on your site. You may do this by using a widget to add your video to the sidebar of your site. Sites like Widgetbox will help you create a cool looking widget of your video that you can then place on your site and share on other sites.

Maximizing exposure means to literally saturate the waves with your video. Your ultimate goal is to have your video and message seen by your target audience. Making it available is important, which is why placing it on Youtube is a great idea. Placing your video on Youtube will be seen by many and they will also have the opportunity to embed your video on their sites which of course leads to more views.

Placing the video on your site is important as mentioned above. What is of greater importance is the tags and descriptions of the video. Placing a video on your main or company site is a great way to break up the monotony of text. Be sure to either add a transcript along with your video or include precise descriptions with tags to be found by the search engines.

Social networks are the latest and greatest craze and you can use them to your advantage. Let's not spam all your visitors or followers with videos, but placing your videos on Facebook will definitely increase the exposure it receives. Facebook also allows the ability to share the video with others and, of course, that is always welcomed.

Most importantly, make online videos part of your marketing efforts. People love connecting with the person behind the site. Using your videos will create instant recognition and expertise in your market. If you haven't incorporated videos as part of your marketing plan do it today, start 2010 with a bang!

Ustream iPhone

I recently saw that the Ustream application for iPhone was available and was kinda skeptical. "Broadcast live video from you iPhone" - Chyeah right. Well, after downloading the application, I'm happy to say Broadcasting from you iPhone YEAH BABY!

This is another game changer. I have been in situations where there was a need to send live video cheaply and easily to a small audience. With this application and a free Ustream account, it's MUCH easier and VERY inexpensive. All you need is a robust wi-fi connection and boom there you go - live video feed from a device that fits in your back pocket.

Here is a recording of a Live "Show" I did just before Christmas. It gets going around the :32 second mark ;-)
