About Mr Video

I'm writing this from my iPad. I love this device for a bunch of reasons but today it allows me to sit outside, soak up the rays and send you some February Love before February comes to a close.

February 12th was my birthday. I had a great one and yes, I'm 39.

In gratitude to you all, I am releasing my online video editor today to all membership levels.

What that means is that if you are currently a member, or become a member at the basic level, you will have access to one of the coolest online editors there is - The Video Edit Machine.

Later today I'll post a video of the final release so you can get a look but for now, here are some features:

- Save edits

- Add intros
- Green screen (Yes Green screen!)
- Export directly to YouTube
- Download to desktop
- Cuts, Dissolves etc etc.

Benefits include being able to edit your footage anytime, anywhere. Upload intros for consistent look and feel, all included in your AMV membership. This offer is limited. In March the price for access to the editor goes up to $47. If you act now, you are grandfathered in for the life of your membership.

Shhhh... Don't say a word...

You're welcome.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

Mr Video Says: "You never know when you will run into a moving story. Always carry your Flip camera with you and look for opportunities to share a great moment with the world. The film maker of this piece met this gentleman on a flight from LA to DC and this video is the result!"

FEATURE ARTICLE

Making the Most of Your Marketing Videos

Written content may be king, but video marketing is quickly moving up in the ranks. The art of showing someone exactly what you can provide is truly leaps and bounds above any written word in the real world. All you have to do is think about the thousands of hits on YouTube or other video sharing sites, and you’ll begin to see the potential that video marketing could have in your plan.

Still not convinced? In the next few paragraphs, we’ll show you just how to use video marketing to maximize your advertising dollar, whether you are selling stock options or pancake syrup.

The Content is Important

Sure, a catchy tune at the beginning is great, and some flashy and bright images at the beginning will certainly catch an eye or two, but the bottom line is you need something with substance, something worth watching. The video should focus on the service or product that you are promoting, not the latest hit single playing on the radio airways.

Before you upload your next video, ask yourself these questions: 1) Will the viewer remember my product 30 seconds after the video is over? 2) Will the viewer ask questions after the video is done? and 3) Have I provided an avenue for them to get answers? If you can honestly answer those questions in the affirmative, you have created an effective video.

Cater to Your Audience

People who live in the marketing world are constantly told to keep the audience in mind; and it is just as true in video marketing. Targeted marketing is one of the most efficient and effective ways to gain new clients, and keep the ones you have returning.

So take the time to do a little research before producing your video:

  • Who will benefit most from this product?

  • Who will most likely want to use your service?

  • What demographic will most likely be attracted to what you have to offer?

By addressing these questions, you’ll be able to more effectively aim your video marketing at the best potential clients.

VIDEO GEAR REVIEW

Mailplane

When I write these reviews I try to think of apps or gear I use a lot. Mailplane is just such an app and I use it for my Gmail accounts.

Yep, accounts. As you may know, your Gmail account is tied to your YouTube, Adwords and other Google based accounts. So, if signed to one Gmail account and you want to access a different YouTube account, it's a real pain. Or, if you simply want to monitor multiple accounts it's not easy or quick.

Enter Mailplane. Mailplane is a standalone app (Mac only for now) that identically mimics your Gmail experience on your browser. The main difference is an accounts panel (drawer) that lets you quickly switch between accounts. Accounts listed is the drawer also display the number of unread emails so at a glance you can easily monitor multiple emails.

At Celebrity Results we create a Gmail account for each of our web tv show clients. This way we can easily monitor and manage the social media distributions and comments. Having Mailplane has allowed us to manage this with ease - I highly recommend Mailplane.
