Video Tip: Your Own Video Channel on the Web
Hey! I'm sure ready for summer! My sister and her family live in Turkey and they come back to the states once every 3 years. This year is one of those years! We vacation down on the boarder of Virginia/North Carolina on a lake called Buggs Island Lake (Kerr Lake to the locals). We do all the lake toys and see who can come up with the most outrageous stunts. One toy I'll be bringing is my new Oregon Scientific Action Cam. This thing is AWESOME! It's small, waterproof and runs on 2 AA batteries. I can't WAIT to get some video of water skiing with this thing strapped to me! What a hoot! You can get yours on eBay for around $99. Search Action Cam on eBay. I found this cool new service that allows you to automatically scour the web for videos that relate to your interests and serves them in a nice neat "channel". The service can be found at http://www.magnify.net/ The service is very easy to use and can be easily customized to match the look and feel of your own site. Plus, users can comment on and rank the videos. Great way to get some instant content. Videos can be added automatically or you can add them manually. I have set up my "station" to show "Internet Marketing" videos here: http://askmrvideo.magnify.net/ I had a blast at the Underground III marketing seminar hosted by Yanik Silver in Washington D.C. I met up with some good friends and made some new ones. I got a chance to hear Andrew Lock - Internet marketing guru - deliver a very impressive presentation on marketing with eBay. Andrew showed how he is using video in his eBay ads for max impact. I asked Andrew if he would share his considerable video insights with the AMV community and he readily agreed! His tutorial on eBay and Video is awesome. It's called "How Using Video on eBay Boosted the Final Selling Price Of My Students Listings By Up To A Whopping 373%!". It is a great tutorial with two fantastic screen capture included. You can find it here:
http://www.askmrvideo.com/members/149.cfm I have available a limited supply of a very new and very cool chroma key tool called Composite Lab Pro. I ordered a limited batch from a European company as a test. With Ultra 2 going all "Adobe" on us and AfterEffects costing a fortune, this easy to use application fits a need and will not last long I believe. It does fantastic greenscreen keys and can output alpha video - perfect for transparent flash use. Oh, both Mac and PC versions are available! I have discounted it substantially for members (use your sing-up email address to get the discount). You can read about it in the new Products Department here: http://www.askmrvideo.com/products/item7.cfm Did you have a good April 1? I sure loved all the shenanigans going on all over the web. The "best in show" HAS to go to Google for their efforts.
Their TiSP service was announced here: http://www.google.com/tisp/
Another "roll out" can be found here: http://mail.google.com/mail/help/paper/more.html You simply must read through all the copy - some VERY funny stuff in there! That's it for this tip. Hope you enjoyed it. All the best
