Video Tip: The Video Code

I just got back from a fantastic conference in San Jose! Great weather and great information delivered over 3 days by Sean D'Souza. What an expert at building community!

I was fortunate enough to be selected to be the videographer for the event and I'll be writing about the Ins and Outs of event videography over the next few days.

I do have two new articles that I believe will help you master your video opportunities. The first article is The Video Code - Part 1. This article details the attractor factors for good videos. http://www.askmrvideo.com/public/191.cfm

Part 2 of The Video Code details the 'M' Profile - a system that shows you how to increase interest and drama in any production you do.

These are free articles and you are welcome to print out and save and I encourage you to send them on to your video friends.

Cool Tip from HDVideoPro magazine

Here's a neat little trick for using your HDV camera to produce high(er) quality print outs. This trick is being use by newspaper photogs who are now slugging around HDV cameras to catch ALL the action.

1) Capture the area of interest in your NLE (Non-Linear-Editor).

2) Increase size of edit window to as large as possible.

3) Screen the enlarged window.

4) Open in Photoshop or similar.

5) Adjust image size to 30" (yes inches) at 600dpi. Use bicubic smoother

6) Resize to normal width and set dpi between 150 and 200.

Using this technique you can get some terrific images from your camcorder that are print ready.
