Video Tip: Pocket HD, 5 to 1 Conversions

Hey! I hope you had a fantastic 4 day weekend and got to spend some time with friends and family. I had a blast in Baltimore as we went down to the Inner Harbor area and caught the NCAA Lacrosse Championships. It was a fantastic time and the weather was great.

Sometimes you just want to have a vacation and not bring work with you. So, I left my laptop at home, my cameras (all of them) at home and simply enjoyed the weekend. I really hope you did too.

My mind gets very focused without all the tech distractions pulling at me and I had an epiphany. More on that later...

First Up

I saw this gem and HAD to share it. How about a sub $300 HD video camera? OK? Here you go: AipTek Press Release

The camera operates in true HD (1280x720 pixel resolution / 16:9

aspect ratio) at 30 frames per second. The GO-HD uses advanced H.264 codec

technology that allows users to record approximately 4 hours of HD video

clips in 8GB High Capacity SD. It also shoots stills at 5 megapixels.

By the time you read this it will be available in Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Circuit City.com, Target.com, Walgreens.com and AIPTEK.com.

I have an SD AipTek and love it for what it is - an inexpensive camera!

Next Up

Got video? You should because a new study has found (no shock to us) that video out pulls traditional ad media 5 to 1.

"online video ads experience click-through rates ranging from 0.4% to 0.74%,

depending on the online video format.By comparison, the click-rate for plain GIF or JPG image ads based on DoubleClick data is approximately 0.1%"

Finally

While I was basking in the sun this weekend it hit me... I'm being kind of selfish with the video contest. Oh sure, I'm giving away some cash and memberships, but I'm asking a lot (shoot, edit and submit a video) and it's a gamble for most (not everyone will win).

I guess it hit me while watching 10 hours of competitive collegiate sports but I realized I wasn't giving back to the community like I could. So, if you're still with me, here's the deal.

I want to give everyone who has entered the contest by June 5th a free month at AskMrVideo.com. No strings, no fees, no credit card swipe. If you are already a member and you submitted I am going to extend your membership by one month. And, if you submit multiple entries (different), then I'll give you multiple free months.

It's my way of saying thanks to the early video submitters.

I'd also like to extend the competition a month as well to give others a chance to win. No free month after the 5th of June though. That's just for you punctual people.

So, if there are no objections from the community, the contest is extended for one more month and all who have submitted get a free month(s) membership. See all the details here:

That's all I got ;-)
