Dear Videographer,

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and give thanks for all you have. I am so thankful for the community of producers, business owners, marketers and videographers that has made AskMrVideo a very fun experience for me and my family.

I missed last weeks TIP due to traveling and this one is chocked full of good things! Some members sent me some great tips they found - I'm grateful for the help!

While we're on the Thanksgiving topic - does anyone REALLY like turkey? I mean we only have it once a year and there are LOTS of other things we eat that day. My guess is that no one really enjoys the turkey but everyone loves the "fixins". I can do without the turkey but I gotta have my green bean casserole!

IMPORTANT NOTE: In 2 weeks I'm raising the signup fee to AskMrVideo. There are so many great tutorials and downloads available and I want to give you loyal readers a last chance to get in and lock in the low fee. After December 11th, the sign-up fee will go up to $25. Get in on this final low fee offer today.

Found Video of the Week
Every week I bring you a new video that illustrates great video, great marketing or both. Enjoy!

Val's Video Diary

Mr Video says "Using her video diary, Val has 8.2 million total video views and has sold every painting she has featured (prices $500-$1000)."

"HD Video Lights"
by Perry Lawrence

If you are just getting started or on a limited budget, you probably spent a LOT of money on your video camera and now don't have any cash for the "essentials" (lights, tripod, mic). Well here is a neat lighting trick that works like a charm.

I call these lights HD video lights. (HD = Home Depot). Now before you roll your eyes, read on and see if these aren't the bomb!

Take one part construction clip-on light, one part 5000k (daylight) fluorescent bulb and one part shower cap. Put them together and bingo - HD Video Light.

For best results make sure you have a "daylight" temperature bulb and get it with as much "equivalent" wattage as you can. Get a white shower cap. The shower cap diffuses the light nicely for a faux "soft box" that actually works! Get your shower cap here.

Video Gear Review
Here we go! My favorite part of every "Tip of the Week". This is where we get to look at some neat toys tools!

Tube Mogul

There are a lot of video distribution sites available out there. They range from free to costly and from easy to difficult. There is a new site that member Paul Mabry turned me on to that is free AND easy AND has analytics - YES ANALYTICS!

It couldn't be easier: Sign up, post your existing video links, done. OR, you can upload to TubeMogul and it will distribute for you.

The best part is that TubeMogul will track your viewership and let you see which site is performing best, number of views, etc.

Check it out at TubeMogul.com

Perry -

I am pretty sure I saw a post about a program that will allow you to download a video from any web site.

I cannot find that post - do you know of the web site or software?

Thanks and by the way -

Have a Super Happy Thanksgiving and Thanks for all everyone does here on the board.

Terry

Hi Terry
I use Nuclear Coffee's VideoGet as it supports over 200 videosites. It robust and a great video downloader. I'm not sure what program your referring to but I can vouche for VideoGet. VideoGet supports AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, WMV, FLV, MP4, 3GP, MP3 file formats, so you will be able not only to view it, but also put it into your iPod, mobile phone or any other portable device. Furthermore you can set up video/audio quality, set up video frame rate, width / height and audio sampling rate.
Here's a link.
