This is where we get to look at some neat toys tools! Daz Studio 3D I was asked about background images for use with green screen/chroma key footage. There are some great resources available and there are some less than great resources. I really like the backgrounds that Ultra 2 offers but they are expensive and it remains to be seen whether or not Adobe (after purchasing the parent company SeriousMagic) will continue development. I have always thought moveable and positionable backgrounds was the way to go but, the idea of moveable and positionable backgrounds is an expensive and time consuming approach. Until now! With this program these background plates have unlimited lighting possibilities and are infinitely positionable in 3D space. AND, the program I used to create these is FREE! The program I used to create these is DAZ Studio (Mac/PC). DAZ Studio is a free 3D environment that is easy to use. In addition, there are literally thousands of pre made models you can use with DAZ. Some models are expensive but most cost under $20. If you become a member at Daz3d.com, your cost is as low as $1.99 per model! The beauty of pre-built models is that the hard work of modeling, texturing, and lighting is already done for you. All that is left for you to do is position and tweak.
